Water Intake Calculator

Estimate how much water you should drink daily based on your weight and activity.

Why Water Intake Matters

Water is essential for nearly every function in your body. It helps regulate temperature, transport nutrients, remove waste, lubricate joints, and maintain healthy skin. The amount of water you need each day depends on factors such as your body weight, activity level, climate, and overall health. This calculator provides an estimate based on your weight and activity—a common guideline is about 33 ml of water per kilogram of body weight, adjusted upward for more active individuals.

Staying properly hydrated can improve energy levels, support digestion, and help with physical performance. Even mild dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches, and difficulty concentrating. On the other hand, drinking excessive amounts of water is rare but can be harmful; most people benefit from sipping throughout the day rather than drinking large volumes at once. Your total fluid intake can also come from other sources such as tea, coffee (in moderation), and water-rich foods like fruits and vegetables.

The result from this calculator is an estimate. Individual needs vary—people in hot climates or doing intense exercise may need more, while others may need slightly less. Listen to your body: thirst is a natural signal, and the color of your urine can be a rough guide (pale yellow usually indicates adequate hydration). Consult a healthcare provider if you have conditions that affect fluid balance, such as kidney or heart disease.
